About

I shouldn’t be a teacher in a prep school. I should be on an airplane somewhere, in a hotel lobby, walking on a bridge.

I’m an anonymous Lola.

(PS – there’s also this.)

  1. Very nice to “meet” you, Ms. Anon. Lola ;P Enjoying your blog (I think the first I’ve had the pleasure of coming upon, written by a prep school teacher…makes for some good reading :)) Off to peruse some more!
    Have a great week!

  2. We don’t have to be just “one” thing – we can have many hats and many experiences! I’ve been a teacher, an interior designer, an event planner, a travel blogger, and I *still* don’t know what I want to be when I grow up! 😉

P.S. … You need to add to your “about” that you’re a fantastic writer!!! 😀

  3. Just started my blog.. came here and glad I did..you write with such a delicate hand.. I shall learn much from you.

  4. I happen to be commenting to let you know what a nice encounter my friend’s daughter obtained going through your site. She came to understand plenty of issues, which included how it is like to have an excellent helping nature to let the mediocre ones completely learn chosen complicated subject matter. You really exceeded her expectations. I appreciate you for offering the great, trustworthy, revealing and even unique thoughts on this topic to Emily.

  5. Thank you for dropping by my newborn blog 🙂 loving the look of yours, esp the style of writing. I too used to work in day care. will be back to explore more 🙂

  6. Like hell you are! You’re influencing the lives of young people, and, it seems, translating them to us. I’d say you’ll be remembered by hundreds, thousands, long after the glamorous jet-setters have melted back into oblivion!

  7. Hi there,

I’m really glad you found my blog http://reflectionsofchina.wordpress.com and you took the time to leave a like for one of my images, so thanks for that, it is appreciated 🙂 If you have time, please take a look at my other photo blog http://moreimagesfromme.wordpress.com this site is for images i take in other countries around the world as I travel. I do hope you like that site too :)…You have a really nice blog here, with some really interesting and well written notes, so I will follow and take my time to enjoy your world. Thanks again and Regards Mark.

  8. Hi,
I came over to say big thank you for visiting my rather young blog and liking one of my posts. And then there is a bonus wrapped in a bit of a mystery. I like it very much.

    Regards,
    Daniela

      • You must buy elbow gloves and you must wear a large, floppy hat and stand on a bridge, waiting…and just seeing what happens. What a lovely thought your ‘About’ section is. Thanks for visiting my blog and liking my post. It was such a surprise and delight and I hope you return to share some of your adventures!

  9. Interesting site, so simple yet so informative…into the comings and goings of another on this planet.
What do we learn about those differently sized items in Tags for Lola, ‘life’, ‘love’, ‘work’, the mind boggles.
    Thanks for coming around.
    Enjoy!

  10. Engaging, intriguing, interesting—what more could a reader ask for? I’m looking forward to reading more!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking a recent post!

  11. Thank you for letting me read your thoughts. “slope” is one of my favourites. If only… and lonely friendship, very interesting and pointed. If only we had some more wishes come true and if only we could break out of the ordinary… Keep up and greetz from Germany! Steph.

  12. I used to be the only guy in a daycare center. Always wondered what the rest were thinking as they dressed me down. I understand, now. I wasn’t another woman, so they really didn’t know how to fit me in the pecking order.

  13. Okay, so I’m just back from the weekend- no internet access- a good thing- but must check the blog and see you’ve come by to see my writing. So I come here. I’m exhausted but I’m caught up in your work. The arresting descriptions of moments- the care with the language- you pull me in. You’re a writer- and I’m too exhausted to describe what I’m seeing here. But it’s good- no better than that. Anyhow, I’m in.

Will come back later and try to do your work justice in my response.

    Tom

  14. Thanks so much for sharing your gift with the cyber-world, Lola. I really enjoy reading your stuff. Keep up the entirely enigmatic and slightly ominous work. I look forward to reading more of your posts!

  15. It seems Ms. “Lola” we have a few things in common. I like your tantalizing mysterious style. The feline flair is intriguing. Do I hear purring?
Thank you for your visit. I hope you’ll come by again. I believe I’ll casually stop in here to sip & nibble, if the Madame wishes? 🙂

  16. Naked Lola,
It will be meant as a compliment, but your gravatar always reminded me of Andie MacDowell, and if finally clicked today. Voilà!
